Fed: Govt suspends processing of Sri Lankan, Afghan asylum =11
Claims for asylum will not be processed while the suspension is in place, Senator Evans said.
"If the suspension was lifted the government would then seek to process their asylum claims."
Those people on boats which arrived during the suspension period would be taken to
Christmas Island, or if that facility was full, to a mainland centre.
