NSW: Area of Murray affected by algae outbreak on the decrease
The NSW government says the area of Murray River affected by a blue green algae outbreak
has reduced from 800km to 500km.
Water Minister PHIL COSTA says the red alert for the mid Murray River .. including
Barham .. Swan Hill and Tooleybuc has been lifted.
He says the section of the river from Torrumbarry Weir to Boundary Bend has been downgraded
and is now on amber alert.
Mr COSTA says large areas of the Murray River remain on red alert and testing has shown
it to be toxic.
