ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 15 -- David L. Frank of Boca Raton, Fla., has developed sensor systems for identifying hazardous materials.
According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sensor interface system and a sensor integration module support individual sensors and sensor arrays, with network connectivity and critical functions required for analog and digital sensors when deployed in field applications used for chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear and explosives material identification."
An abstract of the invention, released by the Patent Office, said: "The sensor integration module enables efficient integration of a single sensor or for multiple sensors into an array using a modular sensor interface unit and provides individual transmission control protocol/internet protocol addresses for each detector element, signal processing for the sensor data and communications capabilities establishing each detector and the sensor array as network elements on a distributed network."
The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,269,527 on Sept. 11.
The patent has been assigned to Innovative American Technology Inc., Boca Raton.
