NSW: Murder charge against teen dropped

SYDNEY, April 23 AAP - A 14-year-old boy accused of killing a Sydney chemist today
had the murder charge against him dropped.

The boy, who cannot be named, had been charged over the murder of Emad Youssef, 38,
who was shot outside his pharmacy at Canley Heights, in Sydney's west, on August 1 last
year.

The boy was to face a committal hearing in Bidura Children's Court today but Michael
Crowe for the Director of Public Prosecutions informed Magistrate Clare Farnan that the
murder charge had been withdrawn.

However, the boy today pleaded guilty to several other charges including armed robbery
and sexual intercourse without consent over offences committed in Canley Vale last July.

He will be sentenced on May 21.
